Personality: Afonso is a special dog. He is friendly and likes all dogs. He doesn’t like people to touch him, and he growls. But he is not so reactive as he was when arrived at the shelter.
This is a result of a life on the chain and severe abuse… he really suffered a lot. When he arrived he was super thin, with all the bones poking through his skin. He has a hip fracture whose surgery is out of the question! He is a puppy that has been through a lot of pain and abuse so he doesn’t trust people, but he is learning. He has regained weight and is now at his ideal weight. He deserves a home to know that there is comfort and love in this life and that not all humans are bad.

Afonso’s story is another one of a chained animal, totally emaciated, starving, sick, with a scar from old trauma. Did he get away was he abandoned? The chain was pretty heavy! Afonso is afraid of people and other dogs. When we touch him, he reacts, as seen in the video, but he doesn’t bite. And when a dog appears next to him, he does the same and runs away. This poor soul was treated very badly… We can say, with absolute certainty, that Afonso lived his whole life in constant physical and psychological suffering.
